Basking in the Sun's Rays

Image
I beheld the sun today in all its luminous brilliance. Dazed by its radiance, I basked in its temperate incandescence. Silently, as the films of old, thoughts slowly stream through my mind- fading in, fading out. The glimmer of snowflakes reflects the sun's rays, warming me within despite the juxtaposition of the cool, crisp air.

Silence, Snow, and Sighing

Image
Silently, I watch the snowflakes descend ever so gracefully from the skies. They fall almost in time with Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto. The adagio sostenuto is a perfect soundscape for the sight. The snowflakes' decent finds its resting place upon the roofs and balconies of dreaming souls, blanketing the small city of Hamar with a pristine landscape. Not even the world's most renowned theatres could set the scene so simply yet profoundly. I close my eyes as the music climaxes and I my senses are elated.

The Ocean View...

Image
I smell the salt in the air and feel the cool, southern breeze run its fingers through my hair. I watch as the waves gently fold on to the shore, touching my feet like a kiss and then gently retreating. I bask in the sun's rays and with arms outstretched, I sing unknown melodies as a siren to the seas... Image by George Tsamakdas

Sunset...

Image
I watched the sun make her steady descent towards the horizon. In her final act, she soaked the sky in warm earthy colors; It was an evanescent moment. It occurred to me that today, will never be here again. I sit and weigh the moments that have gone and what I can do better for the fast approaching tomorrow... breathing in the sight, I farewell the view and today; with an andante step, I return to my abode thankful for breath freely given to me today... Twilight...

Image
Filling my gaze, I was hypnotized by the awesome sight. No breath could I recall, just warmth from that radiant glow. I sat through the night watching the spectacle and changes of color. Distant lights, lightly ebbing in the forefront of the deep-blue sky. I folded my arms around my knees and e ntered the place of imagination... Image taken from Digital Blasphemy

Deliciously, Delectable Desserts!

Image
Located just off Old Northern Rd , a quaint, Italian cafe brewing and baking fine coffee and heart-warming desserts and pastries- Dolcettini. This award-winning cafe is a must to visit for any coffee connoisseur and pastry/dessert enthusiast. You will not be disappointed! Since it's inception in 2012, I've been graced by its services for many mornings, due to the amazing food and coffee they offer and, also, the lovely, inviting aura of the staff. My relationship with the staff involve a smile, a hello, and little conversation lasting no more than a few sentences and exchanges; This helps get my morning moving. I make a much needed stop here, on average- twice a week, to pick up my large, hazelnut mocha, along with 2 other delicious hand-crafted Desserts (just so I can meet the minimum eftpos amount). Owner and Head Chef Francesco Gulisano is the mind behind the amazing desserts. With many awards and accolades, it is little wonder Dolcettini is so successful. He is awake ...

Late Night Musings

Image
I've often enjoyed looking out the window of an evening and starring at the moon. There is something magical about watching the light beam through my window onto my covers; nights when the full moon is out, I can sometimes make out the dust particles in its soft beam of light. Other nights, clouds have me thinking I'm watching a theater production, acting as curtains. Every now and then, when they float away, they reveal the protagonist for the evening, the moon. Such bliss. 19th-February 2014, was the night I lay sleepily starring at the moon. There was a warmth to my thoughts, though, I can't quite remember what they were about. I said a little prayer and shut my eyes. I took in a deep breath and let it out, as if to be sighing. I closed my eyes and let the warm glow of the moon caress me to sleep. I drifted into the place of dreams quietly... peacefully. Such moments in life are a joy to me. To some a small experience, for me a miracle. Perhaps, I'm getting older...

All You Can Eat!

Image
I absolutely love eating out! In fact, it's something I do almost twice a week. I usually go with friends and family or even by myself, if I'm feeling adventurous. I go because I love the smell of food, the flavours, the presentation, the atmosphere and on and on. One of my favourite places to go eating out in is Church st, Parramatta . There, I'm bombarded with most of the flavours of the world. I love trying all the different restaurants and the different foods that they offer. It truly is an experience that should be had by all. If you're more than just a food critic and want look more for atmosphere, then Church St, Parramatta is for you. There, you can be acquainted with historical landmarks, dazzling lights at night, spend an evening at the theatre after a meal, or stroll along the river. It truly is a sensory experience. Next time you are deciding where to eat, have a work Christmas party etc. Why not make a booking at one of Church St, Parramatta's...

Can You Hear Me?

Image
I found this song on YouTube which describes the wonder of the world through the eyes of a deaf child. As some may know, the field of disabilities is a passion of mine and so to come across stories, songs, articles etc. like this just move me. It quietens me to realize the little we know of disabilities. It moves me to want to try to understand the world in which these people live... Can You Hear Me? (By Bob Chilcott) I look around me as I grow I'd like to tell you all I know I see life with all its energy The city streets, the rush time This is my world, it's where I like to be So much to see, so much to find I sometimes sit and wait a while I see the sun, it makes me smile Can you see it                                                       Can you see it too I feel life with all its energy The joy of waking every day This is my ...
